🧿 Eye of Horus – The Story Behind the Symbol

The Eye of Horus, also known as "Wedjat" (الودجت), is a powerful symbol of protection, healing, and wholeness in ancient Egyptian culture. It originates from the myth of Horus, the falcon-headed sky god, and his struggle to avenge his father, Osiris, who was murdered by his brother Set.

In their legendary battle, Horus lost his left eye. But the eye was magically restored by the god Thoth, symbolizing the process of recovery, healing, and renewal. This restored eye became a sacred emblem used for centuries to protect against evil, envy, and harm.

Egyptians wore it as an amulet to bring health, prosperity, and safety, especially during travel and war. It also represented intuitive wisdom and spiritual insight, with each part of the eye believed to correspond to the six senses: sight, hearing, thought, taste, touch, and smell.
